I am art.
Tetyana Movchan was born in Ternopil, Ukraine. She attended the Ternopil Experimental Institute of Pedagogical Education and the Institute of Economy and Entrepreneurship, where she earned degrees in Psychology and Marketing. She is currently studying Art at Truman College and Harold Washington College in Chicago.
Professional Career in Ukraine
In Ternopil, she served as a Practical Psychologist for the High School. Later, she became a leading specialist in realizing social programs and supporting public initiatives at the Ternopil Municipal Center of Social Services for Youth. Movchan also worked as a Coach and Head Department Staff Orienteer at the Consulting Company Business Center “Orienteer.” She was the Founder and Chairperson of the Board for “MY,” Inc., a business consulting company.
In Kyiv, Movchan expanded her career into media and production. She worked as Assistant Production Designer for the documentary Fear in Your Home for FILM.UA Productions.
Civic and Revolutionary Work
In 2014, Movchan became the founding editor and publisher of Territory of Freedom, a daily publication that ran 100 issues with a circulation of 1,000. The publication chronicled the Euromaidan Revolution (Revolution of Dignity) in Ukraine. Following the Revolution, she volunteered at the Kyiv Military Hospital and later worked at the Desna District Military Commissariat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kyiv as a Psychologist and Chief Specialist of the Command.

The Ukrainian educational portal Interklasa.pl (2009).
She is also the author of How I Became a Jew and This is War: An Autobiography, among other works.
Artistic Career
As a visual and performance artist, Movchan has exhibited her work at the Ukrainian Foundation of Culture in Kyiv and at the Ukrainian House “Peremoga,” a cultural and art institution in Ternopil. She also served as Gallery Registrar for the “Gallery on Sofiyska str.” in Kyiv.
In the United States, she continued her artistic practice. Two solo exhibitions—Tetyana Movchan: My Heart Belongs to Ukraine and Other Memories—were presented at The Gallery Cabare and the Komechak Art Gallery at Benedictine University. Her piece Target Diamond Heart was featured in the exhibition Collective Narratives: Artists, Influences & Inspirations from Around the City! at the Kenny MacHay Gallery, ZHOU B Art Center in Chicago.
